Because using the Network Connection icon is too mainstream.

To make sure a modem is fully uninstalled before re-installing it.
 
ipconfig/ping/tracert rank right up there.
Otherwise cd/ls/cat etc :)
 
Shutdown /m=<machine_name> /f /t = 0

used that twice to get rid of an annoying cowboy who just take IP's at random :D
 
Lol, I used "shutdown" on my younger brother once, he was playing stuff too loud and I was trying to sleep and I'd already asked him once. :p
