hey everybody!

i would like to know what the general consensus is around what is the best wifi adsl router on the market? im in need of a new one cos the telscum one ive got is giving up on life...

btw an adsl router isnt worth anything in SA if it doesnt do PPPoE bridging while using a default account for devices that dont do pppoe!

Check what broadband routers allow multiple pppoe sessions with routing capabilities and then get that rather? That way you can stick the telkom one into bridge mode and use it as a modem for the other new one.(assuming its not the modem portion dying.)

I have the Billion 7300G RA and its more than adequate It gives me great signal in and around the whole house. Extremely easy to set up and it also looks great just standing next to my TV. Assuming you get the new white one rather than the oldish black model.

Mine is the best. It's not for sale. Yet...

I dont care what it costs as long as my wifi signal doesnt keep dropping and i dont have to use chinese mind bending techniques to get it to do pppoe with a default account
Ive managed to use the telkom router as a modem and then a linksys as a wifi router connected to it, cos the damn linksys couldnt do pppoe properly!
when i get a proper one im gonna put the craptastic telkom one under the wheels of my car ane integrate it with my driveway

ok so i went and got the Belkin N+ Wireless Modem Router for R2700, thought i was getting something kickass, turns out it wont do what i need it to do either! AAAAAHH!
guess i'm gonna have to go give it back

what do you call the feature that i'm looking for? the whole being connected with a default account on the router while still allowing other devices to dial 'over' that with PPPoE???

Belkin are expensive and haven't had good reviews in the major magazines.
I've not heard of that feature.

Do you want to split your Local & International accounts ? Bridge mode perhaps?

yea bridge mode is fine if all your devices that need the net can do pppoe but those that cant wont have any net access, thats why i had to hack the telkom premium combos brain to get it to do routing and bridging at the same time

What do you mean use it as a modem for the other new one? Far as i know one router cant dial a connection on adsl via another router's adsl port, unless im misunderstanding u
