Not a bad little site

Ok, similar rundown as before. Using Joomla, I see. Your template uses CSS to sort it out, which is good - but your articles component uses tables. That's a consistent issue when using Joomla, and will be until the components and modules are updated.

Slow to load initially. Is your server under load? ;)
Nice clean design, easy on the eyes, good use of white space.

The navigation isn't exactly attracting my eye, and the active colour is extremely close to the background colour, giving no indication of where I am.

You might want to reduce the header image (file size). Try pngCrush. Also the menuitem.png could be made smaller (400x90? Bit rough, considering it is a one colour background image!) - perhaps 1x90 (using CSS to repeat-x)

Something seems to be causing the hover class to be added twice - I'd run it through Firebug if I were you.

Your networking page has a header link (Networking) that links to itself. Remove it if possible.

In the contact page, bring the icons a bit closer to the text. They look stranded and disconnected where they are currently.

All in all, well constructed. Shame about the tables (I won't mention them again, as you have no control over modules within Joomla).

Great advise. Thank you very much. And thanks for the tips on the tables and pngCrush ;)

You should put the same rounded borders from the blocks in the centre of the page onto the weather and weekly poll as well to ensure the same theme spreads thru the whole page.

Otherwise, very nice and neat. I like it, I like it's simplicity.

Strange tho, loading takes quite a while for such a ncie simple site.

Hi

I find the visual emphasis to be biased heavily to those round blue ball/icons, and it's probably why people are suggesting a navigation bar. I think if you reduce the emphasis of the balls your navigation, by default, will gain prominence. The rollover on the main links is too subtle, viewing it on my gaming rig (which is not calibrated for design at all) it's almost imperceptible, so I would increase the contrast there.

I'd consider a left-aligned design rather than centred. left align your main nav with the screen icon (your logo) and shift your content blocks containing the balls left as well. That will allow you to easily reduce the size of those balls because the user's eye will naturally fall down from the logo. At the mo I find my eyes scanning from side to side and that's not a V good user experience. As a consequence, move weather and weekly poll to the right, and any other modules etc can just fall in below them, and arguably you could lose weather from sub-pages anyway and just retain it on home.

About the icons, try illustrate them in a consistent style (consistent with the icon of the main logo) so that there's some thematic consistency, right now the contrast is quite jarring. If you can't be bothered to illustrate them then check out the loads of free icons out there.

On the sub pages (services for example) the layout needs some love, the content butts up against the images, so some margins/padding would help.

The site's perfectly functional and there's nothing wrong with the visuals, it's clean and uncluttered, but i feel with some tweaks it could be better. Hope you find some of these useful as they're intended to be constructive :)

I like the design, I really do. Clean corporate and contemporary
My biggest issue is you need a proper logo, Sorry I know that’s not what you asked, but the tracking(space between the letters) is way too much for the font used
And the mark is easily identifiable as an icon which isn’t unique to your brand

My advice for the site, is increase the header size a lot more and have more of what you do in a large billboard header.
People need instant gratification of what you do when they land on your site.
The inner pages can use the current header
Otherwise thumbs up

Heres some examples of imo effective headers which get the message across as you land

Nice site and easy on the eyes. Well done, i dont know why you had to use a png for the header file, when you can "besides the obvious - 1x90px repeat and a png of the text and logo" save it as a gif and come in around 20kb with the same quality, jpg also comes close to 20kb

Anyway, it's a very nice site - and I wouldnt mind seeing you optimize your titles of the site - IE: http://www.comcen.co.za/index.php?option=com_contact&view=category&catid=0&Itemid=6

Cheers Anton
