I meant on this particular piece which seems to have people confused? looks fine to me but then English is not the tongue of my mother, I thought maybe there was something to learn about English grammar.

Seems readable to me as well but English is my 3rd language so can't say with absolute certainty. Perhaps part time south africans will throw more light and enlighten us soon. Maybe "its" part is jarring for some.

Reading below seems like the kid was staying with the father which she didn't like.

Information at our disposal says the accused, who stays about 300 metres away from her home with a boyfriend, arrived at around 5am.
