Is it normal for the box a motherboard comes in to not be sealed. Contents look ok just expected some sort of tamper proof seal.

Yes, it is normal. I think it's stupid though.

All the Asus boards I've ordered over the past few years have had no seals.

Agree its stupid, pretty fragile contents. Who know who could put their grubby paws on my stuff
 
My MSI 970 Gaming came with the box still sealed, so its dependent on the brand and the distributor who brought it into the country. Zoidberg is correct to point out that some distis put their own stickers on the card for warranty and tracking purposes.

Most manufactures say not to accept an item if the seal has been broken. So if it doesn't have a seal or the seal is damaged you should tread lightly.
 
Depends how it is shipped from the factory, some brands ship boards and boxes separately to maximize packing space, so the board comes in a tray of say 10 or 20, which is then repacked into the branded boxes, while others come in their boxes already.
