Hi guys.
I recently made a post about a P5N-D overheating (which turns out, is the NB that runs very hot)
Now I've decided to switch the P5N-D + E6550 with a 560i motherboard and 5200+.
Windows 7 installed perfectly on the Intel combo
When I tried installing Windows on the AMD combo, it refuses to detect my DVD-RW and I can't get past a certain point in the installation process.
So I installed W7 using a USB drive, which worked, except that there was still no DVD-RW showing up in Windows, not even as an unidentified device in device manager.
So I switched back to the Intel combo.
Everything worked fine, the NB heatsink still gets super hot (normal), but now I'm sitting with a new dilemma.
The Intel combo is making a very high-pitched whining noise. It's so bad, it becomes unbearable.
Is a capacitor breaking down?
Does anybody have advice on how to get my PC to recognize my SATA DVD-RW?
My luck seems to be endlessly bad with these boards and cpu's.
Thanks in advance.
