So...I managed to drop mine on some concrete face down and the ungrateful thing broke. The LCD is still fine and all is still working perfectly but I need to get this fixed.

Does anybody have an idea of what kind of damage I'm looking at if I got it fixed from MTN/Vodacom/local corner Pakistani?

The actual digitiser and glass set are quite cheap at $50-$75 a pop but apparently its nigh impossible to correctly separate and refit the LCD and digitiser and the full LCD+glass combo set sells for $180-$220 :(

Razr - Very disappointed

I am stuck with almost the same problem as yours as my Razr LCD just died. While driving today I used google maps for navigation (as I usually do) and when I got out of my vehicle placed phone in pouch and went to the shopping mall. 10 min later when I tried to make call I realized that screen is dead as it was just plain black and not responding. When I carefully analyzed screen I realized there is a crack under the gorilla glass on actual LCD, inside damned device! I was quite upset (I am still) as I just can't understand why and how LCD screen cracked as I never applied any pressure, dropped or scratched device.
After spending some time googling I found quite a few guys with same problem and explanation was that during prolonged 3G/CPU use, phone gets so hot that battery and plastic swells a bit and that makes some sort of reaction which can cause cracks on actual LCD! Not sure what to believe, but I am now stuck with expensive and un-popular phone (manufacturer) and I can almost guarantee you that parts will be need to be imported from USA. Looking at the part and shipping prices, I assume repair will cost between R2500 - R3000 and that if I fit the part myself. Spoken to Vodacom today as phone is still in warranty, however they of course don't want to accept reason as manufacturer fault so according to them I will need wait for 14 days for simple quote + my data on device might be completely deleted while phone is in JHB + if I decline to pay for provided quote they will charge me between R300-500 for whole assessment!
Now, even if I decide to pay for repair and get new Razr LCD, no one can guarantee that same mysterious thing will not happen again even with new screen. So I don't think whole effort is worth it in my case. I am currently waiting on a replacement quote from local (Pakistani) cell repair store and if they come back with +2000 quote, I think I will just go on Monday and get my self galaxy mini for R899 from Vodacom and use Razr for you tube video - "RazR Gorilla glass hammer test"...
