MotoGP 2022

Poor Lucio is going to have yet another shitty year with his mediocre riders. At least in the past, the journeymen like De Puniet and Bautista had an occasional show of brilliance. Cal was well... Cal, someone who shone occasionally, crashed too much and talked a bigger game than he ever was capable of.

Lucio needs to develop a better pipeline given the serious machinery he pays for.

Alex Marquez has shown flashes (think he rode to a good few podiums at Aragon and Le Mans) but Nakagami for me hasn't done enough. This year may be a make or break year for both of them. Time will tell...

Cal is LCR's most successful MotoGP rider and it isn't even close.

The problem LCR have is that bike. A bike built for Marc Marquez that nobody else could really ride consistently well.

Work at the circuit is not yet complete and coupled with heavy rains, the first test session at Mandalika was cut short so it could be cleaned after riders complained about the state of the circuit.

Oh hectic! I saw a video clip on the MotoGP site earlier of some of the running this morning and there was a shot of Quartararo and his bike was filthy.

Yeah, it looks rough out there.

Difficult to read too much into results but it seems some progress made by KTM. Brad was third, less than half a second behind Pol Espargaro. Big surprise for me though was Dovi in 9th. Showing his mastery in difficult conditions.

I saw that. So far things look better for KTM.
 
The 2022 MotoGP safety car. the BMW M2 CS Racing. Not sure what I think. Looks like something out of Need for Speed. Guess seeing it live on telly will be more revealing

I think that huge Zarco, Morbidelli crash put more focus on changing that portion of the track. that change would also negate the Dukes straighline speed somewhat

Yep, I was aware that the riders were not happy with the track from a safety perspective and the Zarco-Morbidelli crash was the final straw. The change is understandable, but a chicane is always a 'meh' addition to a circuiut that tends to strip a bit of its character away.
