Hi,

I got a electric blind motor of bangood. WHOOPS!

Now I need to find a blind that will fit it.
Anyone knows of a company in SA that sells blind parts for me to basically DIY it.

Need to get a roller tube, brackets and end caps but it seems impossible in SA.

It’s available in SA, I’ve seen it in people’s homes. Not sure who sells it though.

When you go the a place that sell blinds, they order it from a factory in joburg, they are the people you need to see. send a pic of your motor fitting, etc.

Which motor? And is it for regular blinds or like venetian blinds?

I noticed that when you order DIY blinds from blindsdirect.co.za you get the option to also add a motor. However it is crazy expensive and then you also need a hub/gateway for it to even use it. That said, it looks like you remove some of the manual controls to add the motor in.

Personally I just want the motor part and then something else to trigger it that I can automate.

I saw a promising design recently for retrofitting existing curtains. Its basically a crawler that attaches to your curtain and the rail and it moves back and forth dragging the curtain with it.
Such a simple idea and Im sure it supported MQTT from what I recall.
