Motorola Moto G

I am planning to buy Motorola Moto G from Amazon, so I would like to know if it will function well here in South Africa( in terms of Network). And will I be able to get Latest Android Updates.

A friend of mine bought it from the Orange Store and it worked here, he also received updates (Kik Kat 4.4.2)
