Network status page shows a new B/S today - Mountain View. 14 in Pretoria now.
 
On saturday I got 3 bars on the utd with out the arial plugged in, then it died again, will check 2night to see if I get signal without my arial.

I am in Pretoria-West. Wonder if I will get a better signal to try and connect to the Mountain View tower (over the mountain and 5km from my house) or stay with the Wonderboom tower (11km from my house)?

Can anybody confirm if "closer and over the mountain" will be better than longer distances?

Or is there anybody that knows the exact location of the Pretoria towers? MIght want to try connecting to the CBD tower. I think Wonderboom has a lot of traffic.......

The Moutain View tower is right on top of the mountain, they are using the Transtel dishes. According to the tekkie, that was here at my offices a couple of weeks ago, they were lowering the dishes a little bit and viola.

Well do a uttrace and see which 1 gives u the better signal.

Please check what B/s number you get for Mountain View. I got '4' which is the same as Centurion Technopark :confused:

'closer and over' - its all relative - how far over? how much closer? Its going to take experimentation...

Hmm.. Cape Town not higher that Pretoria hey. Damn, iBurst should know wheres more important to put up towers by now :(

Anyway, Century City tower in CPT up, and Seapoint also up this week. Looking nice.. you get around to Constantia some time will you.. "its going up this friday" - about three months ago.

Nice to know that if I actually want to use my UTD around Cape town chances are there will at least be some connection. I mean I might be taking my UTD for a walk and get attacked by gangsters who take me back to their hide out in Nyanga or Kuils River, and bam, iBurst tower right there, ill just log on to one of their stolen laptops and im on the net. Wow, true convenience...
 
What do the gangsters do for power? I thought you guys had a problem. Have they stolen Koebe** as well?

I wonder whether it is on top of the mountain? iBurst don't use 'dishes'. I got a very good signal in Rachel de Beer street which makes me suspect the shopping centre. Anyone with better info?
