iv got a lil problem with my mouse tho i dont think its the mouse at fault. My mouse is not being detected by windows so im learning the art of navigating with the keyboard.
so this is how it started. Im running windows 2000 SP4 IE6. I have an Intel motherboard D845GERG2 running a P4 at 2.4 Ghz with 1GB DDR. Yes i know the system is ancient.
so i downloaded i bios update from the intel site. Now i would assume its from intel. What on earth could go wrong. I read the readme. It all looks safe. So i install the update. Its an executeable that runs from windows if that helps. Installation runs to completion. The system auto reboots and a message comes up saying install successfull. The desktop loads up and i notice the cursor is not on the screen. Ok lets reboot again just to be sure. Nothing.
i have looked through device manager and there is no mouse or other pointing device. So in the control panel i click the mouse tab. Or rather mouse properties. Under the hardware tab there its blank. I also tried to add new device. Tried to auto detect got nothing there. So i tried select from a list of hardware. Once again no mouse or other pointing device is listed. The closest i got would be other devices but this is a plug and play mouse. So there is no driver disk or anything. And this mouse has no brand name on it so i dont know which manufacturer i should try.
so can anyone please help me. I think i explained the story as much as i could but if you need to know more just let me know. And yes i typed this all on my mobile and now my thumbs are paining.
