Mouse Problem

My mouse randomly freezes while being used, cant click or scroll or move the mouse. The optical light goes off, then comes back on and I can use the mouse again. It goes off for about 1-2seconds.
I have a Logitech MX-518 and its about 1.5 years old.

Any suggestions? It started happening a few weeks ago..

Does it happen on all USB ports? Did you try it on another PC?

Happens on almost all USB ports, havent tried the front USB ones.. but somehow I doubt they will work. I'll try the mouse on another box and perhaps another gaming mouse on my current box.

Otherwise, try reinstall or upgrade Setpoint and see if that helps.

Sounds like driver/firmware to me, go have a look on Logitech's webby for firmware or new drivers for your rodent

hey i have a similar problem, i bought a pc from game, the usb mouse worked for a few weeks and then stoped, which ever computer i plug it into the optical light switches on, but the problem is the computers (win xp and win 7) dont show any drivers, i have seached the internet for the drivers but was unsuccessful, any ideas? the mouse is a mecer MM- 205PB1
