Hi all.
We are trying to move our domain from Telkom to Afrihost.
Afrihost took over our ADSL fine but the domain is still down after a week so no email, plus the 3 days Telkom email was down before this.

Afrihost has submitted the ticket but Telkom does not release.
I am so sick of dealing with Telkom who hide behind call centre numbers. Afrihost has tried to assist but the result is no email for over a week.
Phoned who is who also lay the blame with Telkom.
I have been using www.whois.co.za to check as well as the domain itself.
The standard response is give it 2 hours to reflect, but after 150 plus hours, it should be done.

Any ideas or assistance please?

You are paying Afrihost for this service. Make them follow it up, it's why you pay them.

Been there, tried that, same zero result:mad:

drop a PM to AfriGuy or AfriMan or AfriGenie with your details and request them to resolve it.

(or to all three!!)

Always make yourself, or someone you trust the admin/contact people for the domain details when submitting request.

That way Telkom can not reject the domain transfer request and you would not be having these issues.

But yes dealing with Telkom call centres can be frustrating. Try PM TelkomZA he may be able to assist. They have always been helpful when I have queries.

Thanks, sent Afriguy and TelkomZA both a PM.
My wife is the contact for the domain.

So you're moving your domain from one ****ty provider to another ****ty provider and you're having trouble getting service? LOL

Hi all
Sent Afriguy and TelkomZA both a PM, no reply.
Thankfully, the problem resolved itself today.
I wish FibreInfinity had their 10MB uncapped FTTH with SIP available in PE. No more ADSL nor Telkom.

Hi :)

Sorry about the delays here, I haven't been around much today.
I'll follow up with your PM in a bit - when in doubt though, PM all the reps :)

Hi Barrytemp

Glad to hear that the domain transfer completed and that your domain has been moved over to Afrihost.

For future reference, or for others who may be in a similar scenario please see below.

Sadly there are far too many hosting provides who list themselves as the Registrant, or list their generic domains email address as the registrant email address.

If your domain is on the EPP platform and your provider refuses to accept the transfer then contact the ZA Central Registry Legal dept and submit a complaint against the Registrar.
https://www.registry.net.za/contact.php

If the domain still remains on the legacy platform then you need to contact Uniforum SA, they will be able to assist.
