Move from MFN to CI

Hello!

Please could you assist. MFN recently went live in my area, and my ONT was installed and activated last week (MFN is my ISP). I have been less than impressed with the level of support and relevant feedback from them. (I have a 50Mb line and all speed tests come back with max 5Mb).

I am the point already where I am ready to ditch MFN as an ISP and move. Couple of questions from my side:

Cutover time. What sort of timeframe (or downtime) is involved with moving over?
Will moving resolve the speed issue? Or are you hampered with the last mile provider and their routing issues?

MFN is pretty quick to move over, same day sort of thing. It's up to your ISP and fibre provider to deliver your final service.

So we would definitely be able to assist in resolving your problem.
 
Cutover time is dependant on how long MFN takes to release your line, it's typically fairly quick, but getting coordinated with a router delivery is sometimes a day or so lag once they let us know the line is moved.

It depends on what the issue with your line is -- if it's packet loss on the MFN backhaul network, we will have the same problems. Packet loss on their network will affect your speeds.

A good test would be to run an iperf UDP using the https://iperf.fr/download/windows/iperf-3.1.3-win64.zip software as follows...

iperf3 -c lnms.cisp.co.za -b 10M -u -t 60
iperf3 -c lnms.cisp.co.za -b 10M -u -t 60 -r

If that runs fairly clear with minimal packet loss then it might be their ISP portion to blame.
