Nine Lives (2016) 6.5/10

This is one of those movies you should not base your opinion on by critic & user reviews. Yes there is a major reliance on CGI; the story itself is rather predictable & the ending is rather disjointed but it's got a great fun factor & plenty of comical laughs. A strongly recommended watch for cat lovers and/or watching with a young lighty.

Side note: A beyond cool Lexus LFA is featured...

Not sure if I'm impressed by the sarcasm or if that was intentional :wtf:

I enjoyed it quite a lot but I found the portrayal of Sully too unequivocal, and Tom Hanks basically reprised his Captain Philips role. Clint Eastwood is getting preachier these days and it's off putting.

I dunno about all that but the last scenes with them reproducing the events according to the cockpit voice recorder was awesome :)

I want to change my score for Arrival to 6.5 / 10 and give the same score to Dr. Strange. Cool experience but the whole thing felt a bit shallow. Can't really see myself watching it again.

Old people, what do you expect?

Pete's Dragon. 2016. Not bad, decent family film that is typical middle-of-the-road Disney. I can't help wondering what exactly the point was of this remake, though. The original was a lot of fun mixing humour with fantasy and imagination. With this one I almost got the feeling somebody got a budget and the opportunity to play with models and special effects (Elliot, the dragon is excellently modeled) but then didn't have any original ideas, and thus this movie. 6/10

The Monster (2016) 5/10

Takes ages for the story to actually develop. For a "horror" it's not that scary as well. Only worth your time (& data) if there is nothing else to watch.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016)
Not as good s the first Jack Reacher, but still a good story with some good action and of course Cobie Smulders:love:

The Whisperer in Darkness (2011)

A sci-fi horror from H.P. Lovecraft made in the style of the 1940-50's. 7/10

Trailer was amazing and promised tons. Movie was a let down. Predictable. Zero story development. I fell asleep. This is ET gone horribly wrong. Elliot Elliot save me. ⭐⭐️ green fur covered stars from me

2/10 is pretty bad.
