The Great War 7/10

There was something that just didn't sit right with this movie, still trying figure out what it is.

But in the same class as Saving Private Ryan it is not - not even close.

Fully enjoyed The Irishman
Not for everyone, but for those who enjoy the mobster / crime genre

I can understand why people think he's a good director though. I also wish he was good. He makes high-concept science fiction, intellectually challenging mainstream films with great cinematography. I just think he completely fails when it comes to storytelling.

He hardly writes the movies he directs, although this put him on the map and well worth a watch.

 
Frozen II - 7 /10

Pretty decent.

Rambo Last Blood 2019 - 6 / 10

Have to like the less talk and more action.

Running with the Devil 2019 - 5 / 10

When is Cage going to make a good movie again...

IT Chapter 2 - 7 / 10

That was far better than I thought it would be.
 
Watched "Joker" last night and was not disappointed !

What a movie and what a performance by Phoenix...he was simply as brilliant as I expected him to be after seeing the trailers.

"True DC fans" are of course throwing their toys out the pram, but for me this was one of the best this year.

I must also mention the score/soundtrack....mesmerizing to say the least.

6 Underground - It really is an assault on the senses. Was all that gore really necessary? I will add 1 more point for Adria Arjona to make it 6/10.

Netflix has to do one big budget movie a year with a big star attached to justify its existence.
Last one was Bright.

They've had a lot more success with getting great directors to make unique projects. The Irishman, Roma, and Marriage Story were superb. Ballad of Buster Scruggs, El Camino, Meyerowitz Stories, Okja, Beasts of No Nation - also very good movies.
 
6 Underground (2019) 6.5/10

Very much a Micheal Bay movie! Fast-paced action & explosions for days! Core store itself is nothing special. Would make a more than decent Friday night film.

Their success is measured in subscribers and non of those movies attract their target audience.

Murder Mystery attracted tons of new business but its a POS.
