I'm a sucker for any movie about stocks / stock markets etc.
The Critical Drinker lambasted this movie savagely. Won't waste my time with this.

Terribly sad to see the characters/movies we grew up loving being torn up and savaged by studios who have lost the plot in failing to do the one thing - entertain us.
The guy who's originality peaked at saying "THE MESSAGE" and using the same clips in every review. His reviews are fine but man is he tedious af.Drinker on a mission to thrash anything Disney.
It's been generally well received elsewhere.
I'd rather say Disney is on a mission to produce crappy series/movies. They miss the mark more often than not.Drinker on a mission to thrash anything Disney.
Nah I haven't seen a single proper review about it that's above "meh". They really shot themselves in the foot with that horrible Cannes opening a month before theatrical release. It's been generally well received elsewhere.
Taken part 17
Bottom line is that it didn't receive the critical lambasting that everyone thought it would given it's checkered history.I'd rather say Disney is on a mission to produce crappy series/movies. They miss the mark more often than not.

The plot and writing in general is just garage, essentially the Nazi's are the good guys and Indy being in the movie is irrelevant.
I'll give it props for taking the worst Indy movie crown from Crystal Skull, which I don't consider part of the original trilogy given how bad it was.
In terms of the box office it's also doing much worse than Crystal Skull in it's opening and that's without adjusting for inflation or ticket prices.
Chalk it up to another success for franchise destroyer Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Next up Tomb-Raider.
What would you consider a critical lambasting?Bottom line is that it didn't receive the critical lambasting that everyone thought it would given it's checkered history.
Remember Temple of Doom wasn't a masterpiece either and Last Crusade was basically recycled Lost Ark.
The last few Terminator movies were quite bad, probably worse than the Matrix sequels. Indy movies same thing. What would you consider a critical lambasting?
At this point I believe most critics must be snorting crack from a carpet given how "high" they rate terrible shows. Case and point Willow.
I trust the audience ratings more, but there you have to take into account most don't usually know much about the franchise itself so they won't be as critical.
That said, I'd still watch any of the original trilogy movies before crystal and dial. It has more to do the the general tenor of the movie than anything else.
It's honestly so easy to create decent movies with an established character like Indy, so it's a surprise this is the best they can come up with?
