Moving a telkom line rant

So just a little rant from me.

I place an order for my adsl line to be moved to my office, eventually I get a sms confirming the date for the install and asking if its not convenient the log on here and here to change the appointment.

so yesterday, I'm waiting around at the office the whole day and nobody came, this morning I contact Telkom and tell them they have wasted my entire day, their response? they were working at the exchange and I would receive an confirmation message for the date and that they have been dispatched to me.

so I'm arguing what the heck is the point of the first date confirmation message then? even asking me if its convenient and all... nope, they will contact me when they will come. AAAARRRRGGGGHHH!!

I think they were just covering for their lazy techies rather. anybody else got this before?

Welcome to Telkom....when you place an order for a new service, the order get processed as long as their system indicates there is infrastructure, at the noted address. I assume if the info that is on their system is outdated, the techie has to log requests to other departments to get the required infrastructure sorted before install can occur. But you right, Telkom could be more clear as to what is going on behind the scenes.

hahaha its as if Telkom is stalking the forums. Telkom guy just arrived, didn't get a call that they are coming though so they are lucky to catch me at the office still. was planning to leave.
