Moving back to SA tips?

Well, I'll rather give every person who even thinks about coming back the correct advice than tell them to come and they realise it was a mistake.

Which cellphone service provider is best? What package for just phone calls and wifi?
For TV...is DSTV worth it? (we are not major tv watchers)
For internet at home is Telkom still the go-to people? We need fast internet. I cant stand slow internet and we use it regularly.
Is a home telephone necessary?

As far as internet goes a lot depends on the are you're moving back to - IIRC you have property in or around Cape Town so, if you're planning on staying there, have a look online and see what is available in the area.

Dirt cheap, hmm. I dunno what dirt costs in your part of the world, but I do know that I pay a total of R624/month for both my 100GB (day) + 1000GB (evening) data and 10Mbps ADSL line rental through WebAfrica.

How is R1089 (as sinbad pays) for 100mbps uncapped fibre prohibitively expensive? That's cheap anywhere in the world.

Cybersmart's Lightspeed FTTH 200mbps, 200GB day and 1TB night package only costs R899.

I know right? I was thinking someone needs to give the man some sunshine or happiness in his life?! He must be from Gauteng...I have noticed most people from Gauteng are utterly pessimistic and miserable in life.

We already own a home in a nice area that is being rented out so wont have the hassle of property shopping. We bought way before property prices in Somerset West exploded. Wont be able to afford anything in Somerset these days with the current prices.
 
OP, see if someone will let you piggy back off their paid tv for where you are currently at. You can stream most channels if you use their account. I piggy back off my folks in the states.
