Hi,

I'm currently using on an iBurst Pro10+ package (10GB daytime & 10GB nighttime data) with a 1mbs modem, at R198 p/m.

I'm looking at moving over to a Cell C Smartdata 5GB (Giga20) at R189 p/m.

I keep my iBurst always connected and it has been fairly reliable (Fourways/Douglas Dale area, Jhb), albeit slow. My question is, is Cell C connectivity reliable enough so I can keep my connection always open?

I'm also planning to start working from home frequently, but I have found that my iBurst connectivity is VERY slow during office hours. Does Cell C 3G keep its normal speeds during the day?

Thanks.

You need to test it with a prepaid simcard FIRST... Cellc does not have the best of speeds but you might get good speeds so test it first.

You can also maybe try Telkom Mobile 3G or LTE. Telkom LTE is very good and I think it will be miles ahead of iburst 1Mbps.

Test CellC 3G & Telkom 3G and LTE, Telkom are expanding their LTE coverage at a rapid rate in JHB & PTA Metros

Thanks cavedog and Dlamaqhinga,

I'll try both. I see Telkom LTE is also reasonably priced. It also sounds like they will be launching LTE-Advanced in December, it might be worth waiting for.
