Hey all

I am moving to a new complex which doesn't have fiber yet(few months) since it's a brand new complex meaning no ADSL/copper either and won't as they waiting for fiber to be installed. It seems I'm not covered for Cell C fixed LTE as the coverage/colour seems to stop just short of where my complex is. I am covered for RAIN and Telkom. Afrihost has said I am in their coverage area yet looking at the map, I'm not really. Please check attachment for details

Firstly, I am completely new to wireless internet and LTE, so please bare with me. I am only used to 4mb ADSL with 200gb cap which I use most of it. I mainly play MMOs(EU servers) and download Steam games, so I do use up most of my cap in a month.

Is there anyway I can test to see if Fixed LTE works in my new flat/complex before I sign up for a package? Can I just get a SIM and use my phone before putting money down on a router?
Cheers

Borrowing a friends is an idea, I had LTE in an area that was covered but had to move it to somewhere that was not on the LTE grid, it worked perfectly fine and I even moved again to a place where it supposedly wasn't covered but it still worked fine with a full bar. The surrounding area was covered and I just so happened to be in the blank spot, But to be safe you should go to the area and test it before committing.
