What is the easiest way to copy saved PVR content from the DSTV decoder onto a PC - my PVR disk is full and I still have stuff to watch ?

Get a bigger hard drive... I have a 500GIG in mine... Got 288 hours of recording space.

I have a TV card installed on my PC with a cable linked to the PVR.

Open TV software, select PVR program and hit record...

Takes a loooooong time!!!

Afaik you have to PVR your PVR stuff. It's that intuitive and intelligent...

Is this not a real good challenge to a hacker with good electronic knowledge.

The guys who used to hack decoders are all still around, but they are to scared to even drop a hint that they may able to do a hack..

Any idea as to how to get a bigger disk.

I assume you buy a one and install it inside. If so:
1) What interface i.e. IDE, ATA, SATA, etc ?
2) how do you format it ?
3) Anything special to get PVR to recognise it ?

Search this sub forum, someone posted pics & instructions around 6 months ago

The way to go is to use a PC TV card and record the stuff off your PVR, its manual but its an effective way of backing stuff up.

Yup, thats the only option..

and it only works with SD content.... The HDPVR won't display HD Content unless it has an HDCP stream over the HDMI cable (afaik).....
