Moving to Jozie?

Well the notion of moving to Jozie has somewhat been replaced by a new notion - I reckon I'm going to leave SA. I have my US passport, there's not much else keeping us here. I'm going to start applying to US jobs and see if I can move near my dad. Maybe I'll go over ahead of my wife and kids and support them while we get our finances together then bring them over. It's just not working out here for us. I'm not 100% sure that this is what we'll do but I'm feeling more and more confident about it.

Brave and smart choice. All the best, man. I'm also in the process of making the move. Luckily I don't have kids, which can significantly complicate matters.

Where in the US are you aiming for?

Aiming at Baltimore area because my dad's there. But everything will depend on where the job is. I've been sending applications out so I'll see where one lands.

Us passport?
What the f**** are you doing here?

This is the 3rd world son, nothing here but beggers and corrupt politicians, and zebras.

If your in IT, mountin view is great, but again don't know much about the us to advise, but do know 20 guys here on mybb, that will easily kill you to move to the states.....

Seriously, what you doing here? You work for the embassy or similar?

I am a yank down here for quite a few years. But I have to say, I am starting to annoyed with it down here. Costs keeping going up and the infrastructure is falling apart. I will give it a little while longer before I decide to head off to Texas

There are quite a lot in my field but they all require top secret clearance and polygraph. Not sure about that aspect.
Half the gov employees seem to have security clearance...literally people pushing papers (of little significance) all day yet they need security clearance for reasons unknown. Wouldn't really worry about it being mentioned in the job adverts.
