I've used Itunes to sort my folders, BUT things seem confused. I have 36500 odd mp3's in my "MY Music" folder but it is only loading 25000 odd? not picking them all up. and man has it moved things around. ZZ Top songs arn't in ZZ Top folders anymore etc etc. Gonna have to make sure my ID Tag's are perfect by the look of things. Think iTunes has created more work for me:mad: :D

Unless you have an old version of iTunes there is no longer a limit of the number of songs (it used to be 32k iirc).

My iTunes directory looks fine - everything grouped according to artist, album, and song. Just how bad are your tags? :confused: And as a bonus only a few songs are still missing their album art, thanks to the nifty little update to ver 7.
 
I use Ampache (www.ampache.org). It runs on my server and allows different people to connect and stream at the same time, all with different playlists. It also displays duplicates.

My tags arn't that bad actually. It seems to come down to wether I have the song on ID3v1 or ID3v2 tag's. I have also ripped alot of my album's where the file names are artist - song.mp3 and so I have left out ID tags completely! This seems to cause it to display differently in iTunes and so I assume sort its file structure differently too. Other than that when I load my playlist in Winamp it all comes up in an extremely orderly fashion (I'm extremely specific that way:) )

I see I'm still on iTunes v 6.0.4.2. Better do some updating there then hey!
 
hmmm, nice downloaded the new iTunes and now it is crashing all the time when I try load my "My Music" folder

Do you think it will help to do a clean install as I have updated mine?
