MS Accounting Express 2007?

Hi

I would like to know if MS Accounting Express 2007 will work for South African users.

I know the 2009 version is for US only.

I'm using it OK. You can change the $ to a 'R' by using SQL management studio, then it really feels "home-grown". It's way better than IQ which I used for some years, and it's free. I'm using accounting 2009 express. You'll need access 2007 and excel 2007 to view all the reports, though.

@grouter

How well does it handle VAT?

I'm not VAT registered, so can't say. I downloaded the UK version, and it does have provision for VAT. Just enter the rate and I would assume it does the business.

Bit of a correction needed there: The free version of Microsoft Office Accounting Express 2009 is available in a US version or a UK version.

Doesn't apply to the free (express) version unfortunately. For that you have to delve into the database with management studio.

This solves the Express issue!
So what about those of you that are using the Express product? You can download the Professional trial version (you actually only need the product key) to make it work. After the trial expires, the product will revert to Office Accounting Express.

They should release the International version! I don't know what they wait is for!

Tried that solution - didn't work. Maybe it works on an XP machine, but vista perhaps did a little too much "sweeping up" with the uninstall of the trial - dunno. As for the international version, don't hold your breath. We are not a significant enough market down here at the bottom of Africa, sucking on the hind teet.

What table did you edit, 'cause there is a lot of tables in that database?
