What certifications today is noteworthy of doing?

I'm looking for example at MCSA, MCSD and information / software security specialist. I am wondering how relevant they are keeping in mind internationally and professionally recognition.

Also how much does having a masters in software engineering help?

Thanks :)

Looking to do some PenTesting Certifications.
Sadly no one is allowed to do training not related to their current work.

Busy with my MSCE(?) for BI and apparently Project Server. This is in my enviroment though.

The only thing I don't like about the MSCE and MCSD certs is that after 2-3 years they are irrelevant. I understand why but it seems like a constant commitment of parting with your money.

You mean in CS? I expect a lot more than the MS certifications. At an accredited university, it will be recognized overseas as well.

Not just CS; MS yes, but in general.

I'm not debating papers vs skills and experience.
