MS Duo / Pro Duo?

I have ordered a 1GB MS Duo Pro memory card from Digital Planet for someone at work for his Sony DC.
I am just looking through the manual now, and noticed that it mentions only support for "MS Duo". Will an MS Pro Duo card still work?

MS Duo and MS Pro Duo are the same size, ie: smaller than a MS Pro card, but what is the difference? Just the transfer speeds?

I am really worried now that the MS Pro Duo won't work in the camera that states support for MS Duo.

Any advice, will it still work?

No Worries, it'll definitely still work.

Take a look at www.sony.com or www.steves-digicams.com for confirmation although it should not be a problem.

I have no evidence to back it up, but I distinctly remember reading somewhere that you can't use Duo Pro "media" in a Duo device (but I think the opposite is true - Duo works in Duo Pro devices...

He does not have the camera here, but it is a al-cheapo Sony 6MP DC, paid R1999 for it. I think it is a CyberShot, but he will bring the camera tomorrow.

Looks like the model I am talking about, retail price is right. The make reference to the memory stick being available in 8 to 128MB sizes. Seems to me that it only supports MS Duo

MS Duo = small
MS Pro = large
MS Pro Duo = MS Duo with Pro adaptor

(as far as I can tell from my MS Pro Duo's packaging)

My Sony Ericsson phone was stolen, but I do have a converter that was part of the package.
If you need it, PM me so that we can get it to you.

Think it is a normal to PRO converter, but will quickly check for you.

Thanks for the offer, but his camera takes MS Duo, which is the small size, so no need for an adaptor. Anyway, when you purchase a MS Duo card, you get the adaptor in the pack.
@nGAGEd55, the difference between them is, MS Duo is almost half size, MS Duo Pro is the same size as Duo, but with greater capacity and faster transfer times. Then you also get Ultra I & Ultra II, which again is faster transfer.
