i now about create a smtp group and setting the policys but is there a easier way and also i wanna catch this guy is there any way i can pull his mail from the server cause the other way is accessing his computer and taking the .ost file is there any easier way in exchange server to do this so he doesnt even notice anything

thnx in advance
the new dumb guy:confused:

all i have is a mail scanner tha scans for spam virusses and stuff like that
but not anything upstream

The quickest way: Put a ridiculously small mailbox size limit on his mailbox. You can condition it so that he is not allowed to send mail after the limit has been reached.

With regards to 'snooping', thats some dangerous legal ground... Anyhow, if you log on with an exchange admin account, you can open any mailbox from Outlook. Otherwise give your account the correct permissions on his mailbox or set all their mail to be delivered to you aswell. Just remember the legal aspects... They could bite you in the ass, horribly!

How to access e-mail

There are various laws regarding the right to privacy of an individual even if using a company computer system or resource.

You can however view someone’s e-mail if you have informed them and they have agreed. The best is to get your users to sign an ecp policy, in the policy you can stipulate that you will from time to time look at there e-mail or web usage if you suspect abuse.

You can access a user’s entire mailbox. Log on to the exchange server.
Open the Users and Groups administrator tool, double click on the user account, click exchange advance, click mailbox rights, add your user name in, click full mailbox access in the allow colum.

Open the Outlook client and switch off the automatic option to mark mail as read when the selection changes. Turn off the preview pane.

Setup a profile for the users mailbox, when you open the mailbox enter your username@domainname and current password.

K thnx
I went and setup a sender filter
and the guy has sighned a policy
saying that i can check his mail for sensitive information
SO ya thnx alot guys for the quick responses

1 more thing what prog can i use to like monitor my exchange server
for the ammount of incoming and outgoing mail and that also says to
whom that mail is being sent and received from

I know u can use performance console to monitor network and the
strain on the exchange server but isnt their a exchange specific prog
that offers so much more

Thnx again

Have a shufti at www.msexchange.org, they've got lots of goodies, tutorials and stuff on exchange.

Sometimes Exchange rox, but I prefer a Linux email server any day.

You can use Message Tracking to check on mails sent and received - this will only show the headers, senders and recipients, and is useful in proving that a message really left your organization, or to troubleshoot delivery issues.

Oh, and I would recommend that you read up on backing up the Exchange Information Store on an regular basis... :D

hth
