Morning All,
Posting this out of sheer desperation 🤦‍♂️

  • Father in law has a Dr practice with 8x M365 users.
  • Reseller and tenant managed by ISM
  • Distributor is Westcon

Westcon had their Global Admin access laps
ISM forgot their Global Admin password

No other GA account was ever created, now there is no access to the tenant. ISM and Westcon have been dragging this on for 2 months with no resolution. I have tried the MS route, but with their AI move and job cuts its a sh@t show. Absolutely no help there.

Any ideas or contacts I can get would be greatly appreciated.
 
Best thing is to get a MS partner involved.

Try 4sight as a trusted Microsoft partner.

Be sure to say, no GDAP access can be given. You need their support on this.

They can't move to a new partner without having GA access, its a vicious circle :mad:
 
@Jet-Fighter7700 See, this happens more than you'd think. Exactly what I explained last week

Fooking everyone can MOS do IT.
Now the varsity fly by night IT okes will maybe fix this process in their support and present it as their brain fart solution.

Yes, I agree.

Cause a GA has to generate the GDAP link.

But maybe 4Sight can assist somehow, through their MS contacts.

I was scared about this exact same thing when I started on this 12 years ago. Each of my customers know they own the tenant and who the one ALMIGHTY account is on their side.
 
I have tried to let everyone involved know that this is a mini crisis...
medical aid claims, patient scripts etc. are not getting through. Everyone just throwing up their arms saying " We need to wait for Microsoft "

Im shocked at Westcon's lack of support here
 
Because people use fly by night IT support companies. Any proper IT support company will document everything including Global admin accounts + they will create at least 1 break-glass account.

By the way iam surprised Westcon have dropped the ball cause they are certainly not a fly by night.

more to the story here, other than we lost access and dont have another account to login,
I wouldnt discount the admin leaving and not setting up or providing the passwords to the admin accounts

ISM dropped the initial ball by loosing/forgetting credentials. ( it could be due to someone leaving I agree )
The 2nd ball was dropped by Westcon. I have been in comm's with Westcon's Microsoft Account Manager, and she did confirm they let the GA certificates laps which is a concern.
