Hey, I'm having some trouble with my Microsoft Outlook 2002. When I create a NEW Email and I try to type, after the first space the program freezes and my pc becomes very slow. So until now I just wrote the E-mail in word and pasted it (it takes about ten minutes to paste) there but this is getting very annoying:mad:!

What can be wrong, a virus maybe (using pc cillen 2008), or a trojan horse(s) (my computer seems to be attracting these like horse Cr@p attracts flies!:D:D:D), or what?

Thanx for advice or opinions in advance:)

Also consider going into settings and turning OFF 'use Word as the email editor' (or words to that effect): it's also feasible that LookOut! :rolleyes" hanging is a symptom of Word having a conniption fit - or there's some spasm in the two of them playing together. Some insert-Office-CD-and-repair-install action, as well as %latest.service.pack% action may not go amiss either...

Of course, with all of these, YMMV  But *definitely* try the new .pst angle, it may be a hassle but it's well worth the check.

Also run scanpst.exe. It should be in Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\SCANPST.EXE (or wherever your Office is installed).
Also check the email and normal (.dot) templates - could have had brain fart.

Thanx ALOT :) for all the replies, I'll try them all until I find the problem. Else I'll use another outlook
