Hey guys

So last week I saw a brand new Msan being put down about 500M away from our house.
I have been struggling with congestion problems for how long now, so I really hope I'm linked to the new Msan. But back to the question, does anyone know how long they take to install and get it working?

From installation to cutover can take a while, my guess is anywhere between 6 - 12 months.

In my case it was 6 months, they installed MSAN in Jan 2013 and had VDSL in June 2013.

Thanks for the info, that is quite some time to wait hey!

The most critical factor will be getting an AC power connection from your metro.

If they have dropped the MSAN box then it is nearing completion withing a month or two.

My MSAN'S sat inactive for about 15 months they came online around this time last year. But like Mickey says they need to get power from the municipality so I think that's what takes up the time.

Once the MSAN is active the switch is quick you wouldn't even notice it you just see your SNR and ATT become insanely good. if your line constantly drops or the congestion is bad you will definitely notice all those issues fall away.

Even your voice line becomes much clearer that static noise goes and you can actually hear the person on the other end.

I used to report a fault once a week now with the MSAN I have not reported one its constant 100% uptime.
