MSCOMCTL.OCX missing.. help!

Hi guys,
I am trying to install some software and it has this message:

Run-time error '339':

Component 'MSCOMCTL.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

Why/What is this? I can install other software fine but not this one.
I followed: http://majorgeeks.com/faqshow.php?id=8 but I am on X64 which I think is conflicting it

EDIT: Running in Win XP compatibility and it works.
