recently got a d-ling G604T, everything is good except i can't open some sites (eg. hotmail, south african airways..) and i can't log onto MSN messenger either.

i know it has something to do with port forwarding.

i have opened the following ports:
TCP 6901 - To enable voice communications;
TCP 1863 - To enable messaging;
TCP 6891-6900 - To enable file transfers.

still no luck,

any idea what could be the problem?

this is probalbly your mtu transmit settings - sometimes set as default on routers to 1500 - it needs to be 1486?? - (I think) for adsl. These settings should be found in your router's config.

are that the ports msn uses? I also have problems with msn. can't do voice chat and file transfers are slow while my pc hooked up to a router

..- dot dot dash ;)

reech,
mtu transmit settings?
i don't see that anywhere...

and freeek,
i got those ports off another forum, those are supposedly the right ports. but i can't even log onto MSN messenger even after opening them

Hi Jinx (I like that!)
Apparently you should be able to adjust the MTU/MTR settings if you update to the latest firmware for the router. (the seeting should be 1458)
