Anybody else having a lot of trouble connecting to MSN, ICQ, AOL and Yahoo messengers? The last few days have been horribly frustrating

No where near capped yet. But it's frustrating. I'm logging in to my various messengers almost instantly on dial-up - why does it take so damn long in iBurst?

I don't know if this will make any difference, but have a look anyway:

http://www.jabberafrica.org/

AFAIK it helps with ADSL when you're cr@pped internationally, but then you need uncapped local which we don't have with iBurst...:(

I have a jabber account too, but I don't like the way the transports work.

Thanks for the link, I'll remember that one. Unfortunately it requires I.E. - too bad.

Same here! My ICQ connects after trying few hours, then it disconnects after 1-2 messages ... very anoying!

I think they trying to screw everybody by restricting all protocols but http and ftp, which is bloody UNACCEPTABLE!!! We pay a ****ing fortune with monthly traffic and speed limits, and now they want to tell us for what to use the little bit left!

My MSN connects first time, but disconnects after about 5 mins. I reconnect... it turns itself off after 5 mins.

My online games were unplayable this entire weekend. The first 5 minutes are fine, then suddenly I get throttled to sub 1KB/s speeds. I reconnect and the same thing happens. I don't know what the hell they are doing, but they need to fix this.

My Yahoo was connected the entire weekend. I spent most of Saturday streaming Shoutcast audio from it - no problems whatsoever.

They are just making money and screwing everyone!

We have restricted speed, restricted monthly traffic and restricted protocol usage ... I just wonder what will be the next thing they will restrict! Probably the time of the day that we can use it?

Obviously the technology is there, it is just the crappy people that making all this ****!
