Hi ,

So anyone that attempted to do MTech:IT and working part time?
How manageable and time consuming is it?
I've been studying and working part time for some while and not sure If I would be able to manage the workload.
I'm going to try do it over two years with Unisa.

Doable, I know people who have done MTech over 2 years while working full-time.

You'll have to cut on social life, allocate weekends on your school work and during the week on work.

I did my M.Com (I know not the same) while working, not too difficult, but I had to put in 2 or 3 hours each evening. No more sneaking off to the pub after work.

Great, topic?
I have already got a supervisor, send my research outline directly to the Prof whom then accepted. Just have to get the registration finalised. But he told me to contact him if I have any issues, so far so good..

Topic? :) And just now you go and take my idea! :)

Have you completed the whole applications process? During my application they emailed me with a list of outstanding docs, after submitting these.... the wait...
I cant wait to start though... am already spending one or two hours every week on it and my application hasn't even been approved yet. :wtf:

Hahahaha I've already submitted my research proposal and if I "take" your topic would be useless. Masters should be something your're really interested in else its going to be a hard 3 years.
Just general field? I'm doing field wise machine learning & intrusion detection systems.

Yea same here already have a 20 page literature review completed, just can't help myself.

3 Years??? :) I was hoping to do it in 2! :) And I think if we keep up the hard work there will be no reason not to be able to do it.

My field - Open Distance Learning. So please stay in contact, I'm going to ask for your help later with a survey thing :)
But seriously, pm me, we are three students in a little email group, so far just for motivation and information purposes.
