MTN 3G dongle - Cannot stop data being depleted.

Hi everyone. Needing some help as i am stumped. I am having real problems with my MTN 3G.
Data is being used constantly at around 2MB/minute sometimes spikes a bit which is ending up as a GIG a day yesterday.
I am on windows 10.

Firewall Zone alarm installed but no change.
Background apps have all been disabled in Privacy settings.
Windows update turned off and windows shows NO updates installed last 2 weeks.
No dropbox etc

Please help!!

someone using your password without you knowing. Change password for dongle and see what happens.
 
You connecting the dongle straight to your pc or into a router?
 
Hi thank you for the response.

I am alone in an office and the only user. the dongle is in a hub but that connects to laptop.
 
Hi what I meant was usb hub not network hub. So the dongle and other usb devices re conected "directly" to the laptop. There is no router and no wifi at all.

The only problem could be some application using data in the background. Try setting the 3G connection as a metered connection. I'm not convinced that your updates are actually disabled.

So it just can't be that as windows will at least show what it has updated if it had.

It seems that this whole process though is less under my control than before so back to 7 I will go.
