MTN alternative to Vodacom Talk Contract

I'm trying to find out what the equivalent contract would be to Vodacom's Talk 240 for my dad. He only uses the phone to call and barely sends SMSs. He uses no data whatsoever.
So his current contract cost R430 per month including a phone that is free on the contract (base price for that contract when a phone is included). It includes 240 minutes which he uses and goes over by up to R20 per month.
What I'm looking for is the equivalent MTN contract. He won't want something that gets capped and he will need to go buy airtime. I saw the Procall contract but very little info was available on MTN's site... So if anyone knows the MTN contracts, could you please recommend one. Looking at the Anytime contracts, it seems that those are similar to Vodacom's topup contract without a cap. Is that right? If so, what would be the recommended one for 240 minutes and is it better than a Procall contract?

Procall was phased out a few years back and replaced with AnyTime contracts.

Basically the difference is that, like Talk, Procall was a rand value for a minute value (eg. R430 for 240 minutes + phone) whereas AnyTime is rand value for rand value (eg. R350 for R350 airtime + phone).

These contracts are not limited, though the size of the contract determines the per/minute call rate, so you get better value from having the most suitable package (sometimes also very slightly higher).

I reckon he'll fit in between the AnyTime 350 and AnyTime 500, but check out the deals with MTN stores for full pricing - their website is and has always been (through many redesigns) USELESS.

You can't even find their contract pricing in a table, only "deals" sorted by phone. Pathetic.

Thanks for the clarification regarding the Procall contracts. I'll have a look at the AnyTime ones then. In terms of service provider, is it worth moving to MTN? We've never really had an issue with Vodacom

I think your best option will be MTN Anytime contracts cause if you call 086 numbers they get charged to the airtime where with minutes based contracts does not.
