Good morning all

Do you know if MTN has dual sim phones on contract?

I have tried asking them this and the standard reply is to point me to their Yello Trader which says nothing

MTN doesn't sell dual sim phones, neither does Vodacom. They'll block the functionality physically (manufacturer removes second slot) or within the OS.

that sucks completely. I did a bit of research on Google before coming here and some sites mention that they do then some say they don't. complete conflicting stories and MTN are clueless

Yes, I believe there were the odd phone here and there that they did allow the functionality, but there's certainly no dual sim phones at the moment. I have a mail from someone at MTN Business confirming that they don't sell dual sim phones due to various reasons, mostly to ensure you don't use another provider alongside MTN.

This is the only reason i moved to Telkom mobile.
I take it they offer dual sim mobiles?

If that is the case I'm seriously thinking of porting then. I want a dual sim phone and in this day and age, I don't see why I should not be allowed one.

I have one now from an insurance upgrade and I find it invaluable

Yes, they certainly do. I got my Mate 20 Pro from them. They don't touch the dual sim functionality, emptyEN and Vodacon do, though.
