We might of put a man on the moon yet MTN cannot tell me how to check my data balance in my wifi router !!

What do you mean 'check the balance in your wifi router'?

You have a router with a SIM card in and you want to check the data balance of the mobile account?

Cant find any info... whatever I enter it says that email already taken. That password already taken...I have a business account with them. No place to enter router sims number.
Need the OTP to login but cannot get it with sim in router ?

You can log into Huawei modems and run USSDs from the menu

Edit: You can also use the Hi-link app to run USSDs

Thanks but slower please. Know very little on technical side

Go to the site: 192.168.8.1 (while connected to your modem)
The default username and password should be admin and admin.
You should the USSD on the top grey bar. Select that and type the *141#

Thanks. So connect phone to router wifi.
No problem.
How to go to that site ?

Easier method is to download the MTN app, regardless of the sim, you can check balances even load bundles via the app, select the remember me box.Only issue is it will send a OTP to that sim card to be able to logon to the app first time around.

Can I put sim in a phone once only ?

Well if you select the remember me box it should logon every time once the OTP has been entered, to verify you are the owner of the sim.
I actually manage a few sims this way, you can even switch number while in the app, however each time you logon into a different number you will need to enter the OTP pin.As long as that remember box is ticked you don't have to do jack again and you can monitor the sim from just about anywhere.

The nice thing is you don't even have to use the USSD menu, it automatically retrieves balances.

Take the sim out and put it in a phone, alternatively... Log into the routers home page and get the otp most routers have messaging functionality
