mtn and vodacom location services tracking

Please excuse me if I posted in the wrong forum. When using mobile devices. If you disable the location tracking services in the software, can mtn and vodacom still track you?

Yes, that would do absolute nothing in their ability to track you, because your cellphone is a big tracking device that needs to talk to the towers to work for it's intended use. If 2 or more towers can get a signal from your phone, they can easily triangulate your location down to a meter. The only way to not be track-able is to be in airplane mode or to switch the phone off.
