MTN announces massive data price cuts

In line with directives issued by the Competition Commission, MTN has reduced the prices of its monthly data bundles.

The Commission’s Data Service Market Inquiry found that MTN and Vodacom must reduce their data pricing and offer a free “lifeline” data allocation to all customers.

MTN said it would reduce monthly data bundles prices by between 25% – 50% effective from 15 April 2020.

About time.......MTN was way overpriced to start with.

i think the word massive gets misused alot.
Like the word "alot" :p

But yes, the overuse has blunted our perception size. In this instance, I suppose, 50% is big.

So telkom increasing prices while MTN and Vodacom decreasing prices
Looks like telkom trying to do the same to the mobile business as they have to their landline business:sneaky:

R99 per GB lol. What we don't realize is that this has always been priced in. MTN and VODACOM knew the time would come eventually and they would have to relent.

So basically they following Vodacom a days later and making it look like it was their idea ? It was not even Vodacoms idea. I like how they make it look like they doing it for their customers and not forced to continue to sucks their customers dry
