So I have a heap of "money" in my AnyTime 200 contract since I haven't used it for a while.

As the contract will expire in 4 months, I'm going to move it to a MyChoice 50 and will probably lose the current amount of money on it.

Question - what can I spend that money on besides phone calls?

When I went from Anytime 200 to choice100 I had over R500 still on the Anytime contract and it moved over to the choice100 as a R value. I forgot about it as I never needed extra data until the day I did and then it had expired. I think the left it on my account for 3 months before the removed it.

You can give to charities via SMS

If it is a postpaid contract then some premium rates services gets billed extra.

One such example would be any website/game that ask for your number first and enter a OTP then the money gets deducted. These type of transactions usually gets added directly to the bill if you are on a postpaid contract.

True, I had a Anytime 200 Topup contract back then, so don't know if that makes a difference.

Anyway, send 1 SMS to chosen charity and then check if it was deducted from airtime after you get the successful SMS.

I donated my extra to wetnose and Tswhane places of safety.

Yeah Top Up and prepaid you can spend the airtime on any premium service. It used to be like that for postpaid to but they changed it a while back when I used it. Not sure if it got changed back. Doubt it though.
