MTN App insanity

so i have both the old and the new app loaded on 2 phones.

was asked to top up data (30 days) for someone.
i log into the old app, i get this decent option:




log into the new app - and this glorious offer is up for grabs:



easy decision, log out of new app, and back into old opp - purchase done !!!

the mind boggles !!

For the moment I refuse to install & use the new app, no thank you. The old app is working very well - why fix what's not broken? I guess the IT development team was twiddling their thumbs, hence the new app...

old app is much better.
new one is cluttered & cumbersome

interesting thing , i had the old app installed, but did not want to upgrade to the new app.
i needed the new app to add additional numbers to my account (the old app would not allow me to add additional numbers).

instead of play store (android) - which would have upgraded the old app, i downloaded the apk file from some 3rd party apk site.
to my surprise, the new app did not see the old app during installation & try upgrade.
so now i have both running.
