Hey guys, I'm new to the forum, been doing a lot of reading in here and I am learning quite a lot. Had some free time and have been reading up on the cpa.

Anyway on to the question.

A while back I opened our company specials with mtn business and noticed a desire us as well as an HTC flyer each on an anytime R100 with no specified pay in. Now I thought that both of these were too good to be true so I call the companies account manager who advised the deals were available, no pay in and the discount will even apply. So I drop everything, and fill out an application for the flyer. This was a Friday.

The Monday morning I get an e-mail from a consultant advising a R4k pay in, I immediately e-mailed the account manager who advised it will be "looked into"

I said I will patiently wait for a response and in the meantime I will apply for a desire hd in addition to the flyer, which is now pending response from the account manager.

I never got this response and followed up, in the meantime I got the desire hd. For R84 pm, no complaints there.

The account manager then said that they were under the impression I changed my contract to the desire and I said no I took it out in addition and am still waiting on a response about the flyer to which the reply is it's no longer available. I was upset because its never been looked into. And i wasn't even kept up to date or informed. I mailed the account manager to convey my disappointment but never went the hello peter route. I might have put up a complaint on the mtn website to which no response wad given.

I took the attitude that it was too good to be true, even though I was lied too I rather spent less energy on mtn. Both my contracts will move off their network ASAP. In fact the on is accumulating useless airtime in a drawer somewhere. I'm using cell c, I get much better reception as well as data deals.

This happened around July, I still have the ad stating that it was valid for July and all e-mail correspondence. I realise I'm too late now, but would I have had a case at the time?

I am an MTN customer, but not for long. Trouble is, who do i choose, 8ta or cell c.
Mtn have become the most useless company, atleast vc tries.

I'm actually not going to persue anything. I was just upset with the unprofessional ways with which things were handled. Companies could save so much customer grief by just following up, yet they don't bother.

Would be good to know if I had a leg to stand on should a similar thing happen in the future.

One complaint on hello peter I say I'm leaving their network as soon as my contract is finished. They reply with some bull about how they value me as a customer and hope to keep my business, to which I respond by asking how the problem will be resolved, guess what, no response. Useless network and I'm a contract customer for 9 or so years, don't think brand loyalty matters anymore!
