Anybody with a B970 modem found a solution to data usage monitoring?
With this modem, u can login into it via its web browser, but there is no data logger, counting up&down data transfered, only current session stats.
Does the Vodacom (or other) flavour of the software show more info?
What I would reeely like is connection software, where it logs the total data transfered (with option to reset every month) and either (and?) send a message when a predetermined Mb quantity has been exceeded, or just come to a complete stop and disconnect, so we know there is a problem.
Is there custom software that can check it? (guess I can let all connect through proxy server that shows the stats?)
Alternative, I guess also, is to use the modem as USB modem, connected to another pc, and use Ginggs' software to reset and log the usage... but its so much easier to use the modem as the gateway on its own.
Our data bundle on the modem (shared on the network) has run out somewhere this week, so its anybody's guess what the account is now
On Nashua Mobile we have a corporate account and where they block the account if the usage is more than 3x monthly spend, but MTN-SP where we have this modem's account with, just tells me there is no way to limit it
At least on Telkom we get messages "u have used more than X% of the data bundle" so, even if the msg may be delayed a bit, at least we can have an idea when bundle is fin. (I use MTN and VC, instead of two modems running same network)
But seems no such service on MTN.
