Why does my bill show up to 9 totals per day? I only connect once for about an hour then log off, but my bill shows many amounts every day.

What? You are with MTN internet? Where have you been living for the past year or so? Mtn are billing you on their own terms and conditions. Read the small print ! Is only a matter of time (usually after the first year) when you will barely access the net yet will receive a 1000Rand bill. And yes, I've tried to complain too until one of the managers 'higher up' cut the conversation short with the words 'THIS IS MTN'.

Hoooray. MTN has just updated my bundle counter from 330MB to 350MB although I have used 120 MB. Must be my lucky day. Thanx MTN.

i reada earlier thread and peoplewer goingon bout mtn's billing.igot fastlink modem + laptopin feb.they hsve only charged meonce for using too much caps, even though i went over every single month so far. (and i mean alot-normally about 1000 on a 350mb contracT)the rest of the time i just paymay subscription. how worried about a "surprise bill" should i be?

Very. Having spent time at MTN HQ trying to sort out my own billing issues, it seems the one system that DOES work flawlessly is the one that logs every single data call you make. You WILL get charged & at R1.20+ per meg exceeded I'd stock up on the Vaseline if I were you...

MTN just deducted R863.00 from my account. My normal amount is R230.00 I logged a query on this last month and they never came back to me. I had this reversed at the bank but they say I will have to do this every month as it is an outside stop order and not theirs.
I will NOT pay for MTN's stuffup. Three months backdated bill ????

As I said before, If they say I have 300MB's left. I will use it in faith that they are correct.

Geeze, they have not updated my remaining MB's in 5 days.

I'm on complaint #28 on hellopeter.... last month left with them...thank good, then I'm putting a stop payment order in place with my bank - they can sue me for anything monies they say I owe - I'll request a FULL audit of my account before paying them a cent.

Stop payment does not work as I said above. The ONLY way is to close your account at the bank.
The audit may be correct but that is not the problem. The problem is that their data counter does not update every day. Sometimes only every 6 days. And when it does, it only updates a fraction what you used.
The unupdated data will be charged as unbilled for the next month. Even if they show that you have a rollover.
Total CHAOS.

You can place an order to block payments from a certain company, it lasts three months - it does work - I've done it before when an insurance company kept debiting my account.

MTN are going to have to explain why it is billed late anyways - they won't get any money out of me easily.

You can just phone MTN and ask them to take you off their debit order system.

Like they will take you off their debit order system if you are on contract??

Have you tried and succeeded in that?

Yes, I just called 808 and requested they do it, they asked some questions to verify my identity and that was it, no more debit orders.

Then when you invoice arrives, you can pay by internet transfer, post a cheque or pay at an MTN branch.

Nowhere where anything will be done - sent a letter to Carte Blanche, maybe do the same?
