I understand that Blackberry is launching on MTN soon (a weeks time, true?). Does MTNBB have any idea on the packages and prices on offer.

I would seriously suggest that anyone thinking of going the BlackBerry route first
look at solutions from LayerOne & IS. Their technology is based on a solution
which in my opinion is far superior and advanced to the +8 year old RIM technology.
Also, this Push technology from RIM is most annoying to say the least!
With LayerOne / IS I can choose what device I want (Smartphone, Palm, Nokia
etc. etc.) and also maintain full control!

This will be available on Monday morning.

DID YOU SEE TODAY SUNDAY TIMES.....MTN ADVERTISED BLACKBERRY......BUT ONLY FREE SENDING AND RECEIVING FOR 3 MONTHS.........VODACOM IS FREE FOR EVER.MTN chargers you R358pm and gives you 3 months free sending and receiving email.Vodacom is @R349pm gives 100 any time minutes + FREE EMAIL SENDING and RECEIVING FOR AS LONG AS YOU HAVE THE CONTRACT.....This just show you how big THE VODACOM AND VODAFONE ALLIANCE IS........YEBO GOGO to VODACOM

what surprises me is that MTN never spoke about Blackberry until i asked abt it on this forum. WOW. that is scary, i thought they would have advertised the product to us all, like V3G does on the vodacom threads.

Now, who will tell us abt Blackberry and which option is best, VODACOM OR MTN?

BTW wheres cell c in all of this? always lagging behind

The way I see it:

Vodacom: 2 bundles and 1 contract
MTN: 1 contract only

Vodacom contract: R349, including 100 minutes airtime, unlimited data
MTN contract: R358, including R150, data limited to 25Mb after 3 months

Vodacom: BB 7290, 7100v (Vodafone exclusive)
MTN: BB 7290

In general, Vodacom seems (somewhat) better.

vodacom does seem better, but 25 mb is a lot of email even in 3 months, especially considering you arent really going to download huge attachments often.
