Hey Guys

Would like to know if this modem is locked to MTN network and can it be unlocked if so?

My MTN Uncapped Lite contract finishes on 05.06.2014 and I would like to sell the router as I'll have no further use for it...

It will not be locked if it was purchased in South Africa!

At worst you'll need to set up a new connect profile. Usually using the APN of internet in play of the usual myMTN APN will do the trick and will work on Vodacom, MTN, Cell C and Telkom Mobile set up like this.

You should be able to do this via the Wi-Fi portal http://192.168.1.1 (I think that's right for the E586) and login as Admin.
