MTN "Call failed" issues

Im having serious issues with MTN, and it doesn't seem to just be limited to me. Virtually every MTN to MTN number (it seems) either fails, or rings once or twice and then fails. The phone then just says "Call Failed".

Initially I thought it was my phone or my wifes phone, in Dbn. But then we found out that her sister has the same issue in Jhb.

Does anyone else have these "Call Failed" problem? Its very annoying and I'm not sure what to do.

Same thing happens to me on MTN in JHB (all areas, Sandton, Bryanston, Fourways etc).

I also have a problem phoning 087 numbers from MTN. Call always fails without even ringing, but my Vodacom phone can call them all.

On another note - is MTN doing any network upgrades at all anymore? You know, 7years ago I moved to JHB and in many affluent areas like Sandton CBD and Bryanston, etc, I would get Edge instead of 3G, let alone HSDPA. To this day, after 7 years, it still the same story - edge in all those places... And it's not my phone I've had like 6 phones since then!

They must be spending all their money upgrading Nigerian networks or something.

I also have this issue. Especially in Midrand.

I'll receive a "dead" call, but if I move around a bit the call "revives".
